White Pods

Question
Hi
Recently there have been little oval-shaped, off white pods with a hole in the center surrounded by tiny hairs. I know alot of things just grow in a tank but ive never seen these even in an older established saltwater tank. Also my cleaner shrimp guards the pods all day  under a flower pot and live rock where its been growing. So please respond thank you for your time.I have a picture but cant put it in this  e-mail.
If you want to see it let me know.

Answer
Amber,
Sounds like some random variety of zooplankton.  That being the case, I wouldn't be too worried about them.  If the fish or other inverts are not eating them and they seem to stick around even after a few water changes and decent gravel stirring, then I'd maybe consider trying to add a dragonet goby of some sort to see if they'll help take care of them.

Best of luck with the tank.
