Feather dusters vs corals

Question
Can the growth of feather dusters, harm existing corals in my 14 gallon Nano Tank.  I had a great collection of corals that were flourishing prior to the feather dusters taking over. They seem to be everywhere.   Can the feather dusters be eliminated and are they harming the corals?  The coral seem to be withdrawing and losing their color in an otherwise healthy tank.

Answer
Hello Ron,

Can you tell me a bit morebout your aquarium?  What corals are you talking about, how long have you ahd them?  And what type of feather dusters?  the larger ones, or the smaller ones?

Usually feather dusters are a great indication that your tank is doing well...They usually dont harm other critters or corals.  The only thing i can think of is that they are rubbing or otherwise irritating the corals and preventing the polyps from fully extending... Which would be fixed by  simply moving hte corals away fromthe feather duster...

If the Feather dusters are the larger ones, and you cant really move the other corals, you might want to reconsider having/keeping the F.D. until you upgrade..

Please let me know the info I requested or keep me posted as to what you do.  Good luck
