injured danio

hello. my danio got caught in plastic plant. she is now bruised and laying on the bottom of the tank. breathing -normal. did swim after i released her from plant. but not now. is there any treatment to reduce bursing or any other advice you can give.

Hi Michelle,
Just give her some peace. Time will heal her. You may also add extra Cycle to the water. Please do not use any other chemicals. Keep other fish away from her if they try to attack her.

Hi Michelle,
Fish naturally try to put a wounded fish out of its misery by attacking when they are injured. The only way to prevent it is to divide the tank or create a second tank. If you create a second tank, remove either the healthy fish or the sick fish, so that the sick fish can have some peace.
It is difficult having an injured fish. Even though they are "just" fish, we become attached to them as pets. So just do your best. You can divide the tank with plexiglass or net. You might check with your local aquarium shop for help. If you need to create a second tank, it can get to be expensive.
