Question
Hello James;

your have helped me before so I thank you.  you save my oscars life.   I have two  4inch, 4month old oscars and a pleco.  the were in a 55 gallon my after reading all your advise i bought a 180 gallon for my babies.  we have to emporer 400's and under filter; 3 sheets and 3 power heads. my question is   the sheets on the bottom of the tank are not flush to each other.  2 are at the ends 1 is centers  so there is 3 inches between each sheets . I read when there flushed it creates more suction therefore works better, what do you think; and do you think its dangerous weight to have a 180 gallon onthe second floor of a townhouse that s  only 18 years old? thanks for you time.
Ill wait to hear from you

Answer
Sounds like you are keeping it clean.But don't keep it to clean.The pleco needs a little bit of algae to survive.As for the size of the tank that's alot of water.180 gallons of water is 1440 lbs.Just don't put any more weight near the tank and you should be fine.Would really suck to clean a tank that big though.Just make sure to keep your tank around 86 to 88 degrees for your oscar to thrive.They will be happier when the temp is right.But an 18 year old house should support the weight if it was built Right.
Thank agin for asking.Anything else i can help you with don't hesitate to ask
