gold snail

I am wondering if you could tell if my gold snail is dead or just asleep or injured?  He's always active, crawling around in my freshwater tank (one goldfish too)  but after my husband cleaned the tank 2 days ago and may have "bumped" the snail accidentally with the gravel vacuum , the snail is inside his shell and hasn't moved in 2-3 days now.  What should I do with it?

Hello,

You should gently take him off whatever he's on. If he was stuck to it, and still has all his 'juiciness' inside his shell, then he is probably still alive. If he wasn't stuck and looks like he's decaying then he is dead.
