Frshwater Shark?

Question
How can I tell what kind of fresh water shark I have?
about 6 inches long...shiney...black trim on fins.
had him 3 days. former owners says he has a teeth???
they look more like a fat lip & is white & toothless to me.
maybe they were banged in transpotration? hope its not ick. just can't seem to see teeth? does not seem hungry...will eat if flake or pea lands almost directly in mouth (mouth opening is small) eyes look fine but acts blind not going after food. seems a little skiddish & not like the light much.
Has moved from a house of two smoking adults to a home of 3 boys 2 adults & a teenager. ( abit more active than he may be used to.)
Thanks!

Answer
Hi Rohn

Just give him some time to get used to the new environment , that is inside / outside the tank , it looks to me that you have a silver shark , lovely fish , strong as well , but a little shy at the beginning , just as I said give him some time .
