My bettas eye is cloudy

23 16:44:51

Question
I had my boyfriend feed my betta while I was out of town, and he added untreated tap water in a bowl he had transferred my betta in it was half spring water and half tap water. When I got back, and found out he added tap water, I put my betta back in his bowl with vittel water and later noticed his left eye was cloudy. I don't know if it was due to the vittel water, tap water, or what? I just wonder if I can treat the cloudy eye so my betta won't die. Does anyone know?

Answer
Hey Mo,

Well i cant really tell you exactly it is... kinda vauge description and i dont know exactly all the paramaters of the fish itself. Could be just a bacterial infectino or might get worse into something called pop eye.

I'v always used a flowchart for eye disorders you can follow the link here :

If you have any Melafix kicking around i'd suggest just treating him with that for the time being until you can actually figure out all his symptoms. Melafix wont hurt him at all so it's just a treatment we can try , and if were right.. we can fix him up fast, but with fish you generally have to figure it out pretty fast or else they will get ill very quickly.

Keep me posted on his condition,
