Question
hi!
I bought 4 days ago two clown loaches as far as i knew this species isn't supposed to be aggrassive but i see one of them from time to time running after the other fish in the tank i first thought that he is playing but afterwards i discovered that he is bothoring all the fish in the tank while the other one is very peacefull.
I want to know is this aggrassive behaviour normal or just he is tense because beying in a new tank as i am really thinking of getting him back to the pets shop(i don't like to do that as in the pet shop fish are treated very bad)
so is he going to stay aggrassive as he is making all the other fish tense

thank you

Answer
Hi,
He is probably just getting used to his surroundings, but if it continues for another week or so take him back to the shop. They are not aggressive fish at all, and usually very playful, but lack of space may well be the cause. Work out the volume of your tank using this volume calculator:
http://www.thinkfish.co.uk/calculators.php?calc=volume
If it is under 100litres rehome them all as soon as possible, as it is too small for clown loaches. If it is between 100 and 200 litres, you can keep them for a couple of months, but will then need to be taken back or given to another fishkeeper. If it is over 200litres, you can keep them!
If you feel uneasy about taking them back to your fish shop, go to:

I have learnt EVERYTHING I know about fish there, and everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. Set up and account and go to the buy and sell area. Make a thread including the size of the fish, and if possible pictures of them. If there's anyone in your area, a lot of them will be willing to buy them from you. There are people from all across the world, so there's probably someone fairly close to you who may take them at a good price.
I hope all goes well for you and your Clowns.
Good luck,
Kathryn
