Adding a new fish

Question
Hi,I have asked this question a lot and no one has answered me :(, please answer if you can. I have a 10 gallon tank of 5 Mollies and have been wanting to add another female and I was
wondering what would be the best way to introduce a new fish, without worrying
about parasites or stressing my fish.
Thank you for your time. :)

Answer
Hi Brittany:  the best way to introduce new fish to your tank is to bring the fish home and place it in a quarantine tank for two weeks.  Observe the fish for that time and if the fish is healthy at the end of the two week period then add him/her to your community tank.  I would not be too concerned about stressing your fish as fish ... like humans... go through what I call an introductory period.  There may be a few small fights as the fish want to have a pecking order... this is normal behavior with fish.  Unless the fighting gets to be violent then I would just let them be. I hope this helps... dave
