Question
we are having trouble getting our egg laying fish to live.we have tested the water many, many times.it is well water and even after adding the chemicals it isn't right.it is more balanced coming out of the tap, than after it's in the tank.we have changed the water, taken all plants, rocks, stc out and nothing works.we noticed these problems b/c we only used to have guppies and we wanted a variety of fish.but all the egg layers we get die.we just got some angels tonight and they are very unsettled.what can we do?thanks

Answer
Hi Dana,
Sorry to hear that. :(

Could you please test the water and let me know the readings of ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? These are very important for figuring out tank problems.

By 'more balanced' coming out of the tap, then in the tank, what do you mean by that? pH? Or ammonia?

What kind of water conditioner are you using? And how often do you normally change the water in the tank as a usual maintenance schedule?

Thanks for providing the answers!
Karen~
