lonely fishie

I have a male beta and he seems to be lonely even though there are four other fish in the tank. Should I get a female beta? Would it help?

Mariel,

You cannot add a female betta to the tank or the male betta will harass her endlessly.   I wouldn't worry about the betta being lonely.

You don't say what other fish are in the tank, but make sure you don't add any fin nippers such as gouramis or barbs.
