Betta fin red dots

Question
Hi, I asked Dave last time and I wanted to do a follow up, but his box was full. This is what I askedz: I noticed that my Betta has some red dots on his fins. They were not there before. I change his water every week, all of it, I clean the gravel too. I just rinse it off, no soap or cleaners. I add a little fish salt. I let it sit for a day as well. I am not sure why he has these dots. Are they the beginning of an infection like fin rot? He lives in a vase about .5 gallons, by himself, he is an average size male, his water chem levels are normal and I try to keep the temp around 73F.
He told me to put the temperature higher, which I will start doing. I also put in some Ick Guard, just in case - no effect. I actually see more red dots now. I am very worried. Should I get an antifungle?

Answer
Catherine,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a 1/2 gallon unfilted vase is not sufficient for a betta.  I would not keep one in less than a 2 gallon tank with a heater and a filter.  My guess your fish is stressed and not feeling very well due to the poor water conditions (you should be changing 50% every day, if you insist in keeping him in those conditions.
