QuestionI have a 150 imp gallon tank, being new to this, I had a problem with the Nitrate,Nitrite ect.. chemicals and lost an angel fish. Now I have the water right, I have another Angel fish that likes to keep int the air bubble stream and has trouble keeping upright. (when he has a rest, he is on his side floating)
Is this a bladder infection, or has the high nitrate/nitrite levels previously burnt his gills? Should I take him out of the tank (and cause stress!) or leave him with the others
AnswerHi Andrew,
It does indeed sound like a swim bladder problem. And this article explains it in easy to understand detail plus treatment methods.

But first things first, I would start doing daily 30% water changes to be sure there isn't a water quality issue going on. Poor water quality is sooo damaging to fish -- To their skin, gills, fins, growth and everything.
My best wishes and have a good weekend!
