Question
HELLO MY NAME IS MARI, I HAVE 7 FISH TANKS 5 OF MY TANKS ARE ALWAYS IMMACULATE AND CRYSTAL CLEAR, BUT MY 40 GAL. & ONE OF MY 55 GAL TANKS ARE ALWAYS CLOUDY NO MATTER WHAT.  I HAVE COMPLETELY CHANGED THE WATER IN THOSE TANKS 3 TIMES, I KEEP THE GRAVEL CLEAN ON A REGULAR BASIS, I PRE TREAT THE WATER BEFORE PUTTING IT INTO THE TANK AND I USE WATER CLARIFIER AND STRESS ZYME ON A REGULAR BASIS, ALSO BOTH TANKS HAVE TWO PUMPS EACH AND I ONLY FEED MY FISH TWICE A DAY AND NOT IN LARGE AMOUNTS.  THERE ARE ONLY 4 FISH IN EACH TANK AND MORE IN THE 20 GAL TANK, BUT NO MATTER WHAT I DO THESE 2 TANKS STAY CLOUDY AND THE OTHERS I CLEAN LESS AND THEY ARE ALWAYS IMMACULATE EVEN AFTER WATER CHANGES AND THEY HAVE SMALLER PUMPS.  WHAT ELSE COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE THIS?  I DOTE ON MY TANKS.

I HA

Answer
Mari,
Are the two tanks in question cycled? If not, then it is trying to cycle and in a couple of weeks you should start seeing it clear up. If they are cycled, I would check the filter to make sure it is working properly. Sometimes, they go out and the first sign is cloudy water. In the two tanks, what type of fish are in them? If they are goldfish, then I would say it is the filter, if it has tropical fish, it can still be the filter, but it could also be the food and/or the stuff you are putting in the tank. How often do you change the filter media and both tanks and how do you change them? As soon as you get back to me with this information, I can help you out better.
