QuestionHI,
I have a five(5) gallon aquarium and I was wondering if I could keep one single clown fish in it. No other fish, just the one. Could I? But I also have a frog and 2 snails that would go in the aquarium with the clown fish. Would all this work out? And what do I have to do to prepare for the clown fish; what chemicals to buy, what type of salt?
Please let me know, and thank you so much! From: Brittany
AnswerHi Brittany,
I would assume you mean a saltwater clown fish like these fellas?

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
But if so 1 single clown fish -might- be able to live in a 5 gallon. But that's only if you are experienced with marine aquarium keeping and know precisely what you are doing and stay on top of good water quality. But otherwise, a starter marine tank should be much bigger. Ideally no smaller than 20gallons. Maybe a 10-gallon though if you do your homework about marine aquarium care.
I'm not the one to advise too much about marine aquariums since I mainly deal in freshwater and brackish water (in between marine and freshwater) but there is also a saltwater section on this site where you could ask the experts there.
I hope this helps!
