Question
Hi Jaymie i am trying to decide what filter to use with my 135gal freshwater tank.My first thought was a fluval fx5 but what about a wet dry filter, is one better suited for my tank. Can any of these two type of filters be use to work if i decide to drill holes in the bottom of the tank. Or are they use only over the top of the tank?

Answer
Mike,

It is just a matter of preference. As far as the filter best if you decide to drill holes, i would think the wet/dry would be. I am not a fan of those filters but I know of people who have them and think they are the best filters around. Remember if you do decide to drill the holes, make sure it is done by a professional. Would hate to have you do it and then the aquarium crashes. The Fluval FX5 is an awesome filter and I think you will be very pleased with its performance. All my filters hang over the top of the tank in the back, and I have no complaints. I hope this has been of some help to you.
