Question
i currently have guppies and 2Danios (used to be 4) and i was
thinking of getting a Biorb 30L tank, just wondering if you
could tell me if that tank is big enough for these fish,
thanks

Answer
Hi Georgie,
It is big enough, but you will need to keep in mind that the guppies breed very fast and overpopulate the tank.  Also, with a smaller volume of tank, you will need to do more water changes, because toxins like ammonia and nitrite will build up a lot faster.

Try to keep a very small amount of fish and do not add anymore until your tank is cycled.  A cycled tank contains beneficial bacteria that breaks down ammonia that is caused from fish waste and fish food.  Ammonia is broken down into nitrite and another set of bacteria grows to break down nitrite into nitrate.

Give it time for the tank to cycle, and do water changes 2-3 times a week to keep toxin levels low.
