new 29 gal tank and angelfish

Question
Hello, I have a 29 gal tank and just put my first fish (angelfish) in it.  I did a lot of reading and thought I was ready for this until I got the angelfish. LOL! I originally planned to have one angelfish, 2 dwarf gouramis and 4 - 6 cory cats. However I have an angelfish with tall fins and a long tail.  Watching him(?) in the tank, I'm thinking of cutting the gouramis out of the tank plan.  He's also stayed in one area of the tank so far (24 hours) and seems shy as he comes out of hiding for a few mins and then goes back in.  I've been wondering if I could have TWO Angelfish and 4 -5 cory cats in a 29 gal tank? Mostly I would just like some feedback on these ideas.  Thank you in advance.

Answer
Hi Cynthia,

Yes.  You could have two, and I recommend it.  Angelfish love to school together and form lasting bonds.  They can also be aggressive once a pair pairs off, 2 is just right.  There won't be an odd man out.

It sounds like a sufficient system to me.  6 corycats are good, if you feed them enough.  Remember, these little guys clean the bottom to survive, and require food.

I hope this helps.  I think you are on the right track.

Happy fish-keeping.
