Rasbora looking bloated

Question
QUESTION: Renee, hi it's Jeff Blake again, the guy who sliced a growth off of his Pitbull Pleco's fin.  He/She is doing just fine and recently cleared the tank again and replanted live plants in new ECO-Complete substrate, and tank looking good.  Hope it lasts :-#  On to my next puzzle.  I have a Harlequin Rasbora and it looks like a female.  This fish has been bloated as if she's heavily pregnant, for months #pictures at http://s1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc438/jblake1543/
same place as my pleco photos) so I'm thinking it's not pregnancy that's causing her size.  It seems to be swimming quite happily with the 3 others in the tank, at least until I moved her to an isolation tank during the recent replanting.  It continues to swim fine and eat as expected, should I be concerned about the size?

Many thanks.
Jeff Blake.

ANSWER: Be concerned, Jeff.

She could be gravid, but if it never goes down, it's possibly parasitic.

I recommend dosing her in the hospital tank with Prazquantel.  That can be bought in Prazi Pro.  It is a wonderful product and you might want to dose her twice, one week apart, each.

I would probably watch the other fish.  Although it is often that only one fish has the parasite, and others do not, it is a risk that they can become infected as well.  So, it could just be her, but keep a lookout on everyone else.

Has the Pleco's fin re-grown?

Here are some images of why I am worried about her weight.

She could just be bloated from being gravid.  I would treat her as a precaution.

After the treatment if she remains fat, maybe she is just perpetually gravid.  It's been known to happen that some fish never seem to deflate often.

QUESTION: Well, it is no more, found it dead a few minutes ago.  Strange how I left it for so long and just when I dedcide to ask you about it, it goes and pops its cloggs.  Question, I assume I should still treat the hospital tank when I get the Prazi Pro?

Answer
Heck yes.  Especially because she perished.  Something could have come out, into the water.

If you have some magnifying head gear (I use them for fixing my electronics), you can put her on a towel and necropsy the stomach to see what kind of parasite it was, or if it was something such as an egg binding issue.

This will help you to know whether to treat or not.

I'd treat the tank, personally.  Anywhere she was.
