2.my oscar chases the dollars but, never hurt him.(is this ok??)
3.my oscar still only eats live insects. any other food to attract him(artificial)

Answer
Hi Raghu,

I'm happy to answer your questions.

1)A water change of approximately 5-20% of the water per week, along with a gravel vacuuming, is ideal for an established tank. This schedule will reduce the chance of any potentially harmful chemicals from building up in your tank, i.e. Nitrate.

2)As long as you do not see any nipped fins, or stressed Silver Dollars, minor aggressiveness is common.

3)You could try a different brand of artificial food. Perhaps try a freeze-dried food. He probably won't accept pellets. Frozen food (daphnia, etc.) might possibly work. See what your local pet store has in stock.

Good Luck, and Happy Fishkeeping!
