Question
Hi, can you please explain what water polishing is?  I have a water polishing system set up and I just would like to understand more about its purpose and worth.
thanx much,
Lori

Answer
Hi Lori;

Water polishing is a term used to describe the removal of very tiny particles from water. Promotes clarity of water and removal of color in the water from the use of medicines, driftwood, dead plants, new tank syndrome, while making a water change, suspended algae etc. Most systems that do this use diatomaceous earth. It isn't meant to be used all the time because along with the unwanted particles it can remove beneficial trace elements your fish need. What system do you have?
