new rock

I have a cichlid tank and need to put in lava rock that i just bought from a landscaping place. The problem is that it has moss on it and i am not sure of the best way to clean it and make sure it is okay to put in my tank. could you help me. thanks.

Hi, it would be a great idea to boil some water an d poor it onto the rock, then rice it and lit it soak in freshwater for about 15 minuts.Once these steps are compleat scrub rock with takle salt or sea salt for 5 minuts and then rise the rock, once all this is compeate you may put the rock into the tank!
