Question
hello. I have a young oscar, he is about 6 inches or so big and in a 20 gal aquarium.  I am moving about a half hour out of the area and i was wondering what the best way to transport him would be without stressing him out or killing him all together.

Answer
First of all, i see two problems that need to be adressed.

1.) Your oscar is in WAY too small of a tank. You need at LEAST 55 gallons for one osccar and no tankmates. You also need massive filtraton, and an agressive water change schedule.

2.) When ever i move fish, i go out and get one of these:

It has a built in airstone, and it is insulated, to keep your oscar warm. That is by far, the BEST way to transport.

Also, when you move your tank, move it with water still over the gravel, and filter media in the water, so you dont lose your bacteria that eats ammonia.
