Goldfish and salt

My sister was cleaning our fish tank and put Dorthy 1&2&3, he is an Elmo's world fan, in another container. My nephew decided that his fish needed some salt (like the food kind). My sister got them out of the water right away but will that hurt them much? Or do I have to get my 2 year old nephew new Dorthies?

You will need to change most of that water.  How badly it will effect them depends on how much salt versus how much water there was.  Clean the gravel the best you can.  I would keep the fish in another tank if you have one.  Table salt and aquarium salt are not the same and table salt is not good for fish.
