alage in my tank

my question is i cleaned my tank out about a weak ago now it is cloudy and it has alge in it what should i do

Hi Fred,
 When you cleaned your tank, did you really clean it thoroughly?  If so, that can be a problem because when you REALLY clean a tank you tend to remove all the good bacteria as well as all the bad stuff.  In essence, it is like starting the tank new all over again.  The cloudiness is a bloom of bacteria that are feeding on all the freed up nutrients.  Give it time and it should settle down, assuming that you don't have many fish in the tank.  In the future, don't clean it quite so much.  It is far better to do more frequent small cleanings that infrequent large cleanings.
