Chiclid babies

Question
i don't get into the breeding of chiclids much or even knowing the type of chiclids i have but what i wanted to know was that a pair of my chiclids has just released about, not to sure but a guess would be around 100 babies plus and was just wondering if i should keep them in the tank as so far the parents are keeping all the others at bay but are also keeping them to one side of the tank which is causing the others to tear each other apart. I want to keep these little ones alive so what should i do to keep all happy. Should i move the mother and young into another tank? What's the best plan?

With many thanks.

Adam

Answer
Hi Adam,
If you want peace in that tank you either have to move the mother and babies out, or move out all the other fish.  Otherwise, there will be no end to the fighting.  Cichlids are fierce parents and they won't tolerate other fish threatening their kids.
