Question
Ok ive done alot of research on this and have been dealing wiht this a long time but it's all gotten worse so fast.  A month or two ago i was given some goldifsh (big goldfish ... the largest being amout 10 inches) that at one point were pond fish but now are aquarium fish.  ANywho i recieved a female with a hole in her head and a small hump of raised scales.  I treated her with Myacin II and copper safe as directed by my uncle who is a marine biologist. It didn't seem to make anything better but she didn't get worse either.  So now, about a month and a half later i started haveing problems with the black fish i got that was always very lethargic and had a run in with a filter system this last year that left him with a white sad looking tail (he is a fancy tail, telescope goldfish).  He began to rot in a sense.  Fins coming off, scales coming off.  So i treated him with metrodiazonale.  Well the female fish in the meantime (today) has gone from bad to wrose.  She is swiming in cirles, scrapping against things, and i noticed... some of her scales are coming off like the black fish.... and the hole in her head is much deeper (to the point where i think it is very close to her brain)  I am now treating her with metrodiazonale thinking maybe it's hole in the head.  I am lost as to waht to do next.  I had treated her for a bout a week with metrodiazonale once before and it didn't work so really this is her second treatment. HELP!  I don't want them to die but all the meds before seem not to be helping. Is there nay other medicine out there?

Answer
Hello Summer,
Wow looks like your having some bad luck. Well, the only thing i can think of that would be causing the fish to be so extatic would be the hole in its head. Sadly, there is no way to CURE a hole in the head, all you can do, and this is with most desises also, is treat them with the meds and wait until the proggression stops from proggressing and then the fishes imune system (depending on the health of the fish and some times even age) should get back on track and begin to heal the "wounds". It sounds like your a very good fish keeper and you are conserned about the fish you have, and thats what i like most about people keeping fish as pets.
:)
I Really Hope This Helps
