Betta - Is it safe?

Question
Hello Lynda, I just bought a regular Betta fish and I plan on putting him in one of my tanks that I had my last Betta fish in. My question for that is, my last Betta fish died of a type of fungus (fin fungus I think) and when he passed away I made sure to wash everything in the tank very thoroughly and let it sit out in the sun to dry and hopefully kill anything still roaming in there, but I just wanted to know, would it be safe for me to put my new Betta in there or just put him in another? The tank has been vacant for atleast a few months, but would it still be possible for any harmful bacteria that my last Betta fish had to infect my new one? Your opinion would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
Hi Janae,
It is safe to put your new Betta in there, the tank has been cleaned out, and there is no danger.  I would like to mention that fungus is usually caused by poor water conditions.  Change your water every week with a good water conditioner accordingly to the size of the tank.
If you have anymore questions please do not hesitate to write me.
Have a nice day
