I have 2 that I had since very young. They R quite big now. I noticed they pull on each others lips k fight They swim and hang out together but sometimes it seems violenmt the nipping at each other. Do u know what this behavior might be?

Hi Casey;

Angels and other cichlids fight as part of their courting behavior. Weaker fish are chased away so stronger ones win. Only those strongest fish earn the right to breed in the fights to keep their genes strong. They also do it as fighting but as long as they aren't hurting each other it's okay.
