Question
Hello!
We have a Betta fish, named Nuno, and we've had him for about a Month now.
Everything seemed to have been doing great until the other day when we noticed
that his fins seemed to be sticking together.  So now instead of the expanded,
long, graceful fins... they all look like sticks.  They don't look like they
work very well and he looks as if he's struggling.  He swims in a big bowl with
bamboo in it, and we change it every two weeks.  We have looked all over the
internet and have found absolutly nothing.  Hopefully you can help.

Answer
Poor Nuno!

Ive heard of this only once before.  He has clamped fins.  This is caused by poor water quality.  I would check the ammonia ph, etc...  This may or may not be your fault.  The bamboo may have changed something so try testing the water with it in, take it out, do a partial water change and let him go for a week or so, then check it again.  If this solves it, good! And if not You may need to do smaller partial water changes more frequently.  Hopefully this works.

Hope Nuno Feels better,
Paul
