My goldfish changes colors!

My fish is orange, but a few weeks ago it turned black. I went online to see what it was and I read it was poor lighting. So we made the lighting brighter and now its turning white.  What is wrong with my fish?

Hmm.  That doesn't make much sense to me.  Goldfish kept in the dark tend to turn white, rather than black.

Could you please tell me the size of tank, occupants, filtration, heating, water change and feeding schedule, additives in the tank, and a  better description of the fish in question(ie, fin damage, or fuzzy-looking, etc), so I can better help you?
