Question
Hello I am running a 3 gallon Marineland Eclipse with the stock filter. The tank is fully cycled with ammonia and nitrite levels both at zero. I had one Zebra Danio in the tank but sadly it recently died. I suspect it died of internal parasites due to the long stringy white feces it frequently excreted prior to it's death. I do not want to add any fish into the tank until it is parasite free. My question is, how do I rid the tank of parasites? Can I naturally let them die off and how long would it take? Thank you for your consideration

Answer
Hi Adrian,
I would give it a week or so then consider adding a new fish or two.  You can't "sterilize" the tank because there are always some parasites present in any body of water.  The key is that if a fish is healthy, it can naturally fight off the parasites.
