i dont no when is it time for betta fish to mate cause i think its time i kinda 3 or 4 years and i no my male is ready to breed

If you are saying your betta is 3 or 4 years old, he is pretty old to take on the responsibility of breeding. You could try it though I guess. Here is a web site about it and how to prepare your tank and fish;
