Question
I have 3 Glowlite Tetras. 2 of them are really big and fat and 1 of them is really skinny. Are the 2 really fat ones pregnant? and are they females? and is the skinny one a male? I have a breeder tank that has a divider at the bottom that the babies can get through but the parents can't...if i put a male and female glowlite tetra in there will the male be able to fertilize her eggs? because when the baby fish are born they immediately drop through the cracks in the dividers...so if the female glowlite drops her eggs through the cracks will the male be able to fertilize them so I can keep some of there babies alive?

Answer
Racheal, It sounds like you have 2 females and one male. The females especially with eggs are usually larger than the slender male. If you want to try and breed them, I would put marbles at the bottom of your breeding tank, since they are notorious for eating their eggs. That way they fall between the cracks and the male can still fertilize them. When the fry hatch take the parents out. Get some brine shrimp eggs and as soon as they hatch feed them to the fry. You can also use Java moss which the fry will eat and hide in . Tina
