Question
hi i was wondering if a fishes growth is stunt then you put it in a bigger tank will it start growing again

Answer
Hi Andre,

It is unlikely, like humans once a fish has been stunted it will very rarely grow any bigger.

The problem with stunted fish is that the internal organs may not be stunted or stunted at a different rate. This is particularly a problem with the kidneys. Freshwater fish take a lot of water on board and the kidneys work overtime expelling this from the system.

Fish become stunted for a reason, usually because they have to adapt to the environment they are in to survive.

Anyway, I'm waffling on, basically no, your fish will stay small, but it may well suprise us.

Thanks

Tom
