Question
hi, i have a very old betta fish (around 3-4 years old) and i feel really bad for him because he cannot really swim anymore. he is laying vertically on the bottom of his container and can barely swim. he doesnt move much unless you move his bowl. lately he hasnt shown an interest in eating either. i know he is probably at the very end of his life, i was just wondering if there was anything i could do for him to make him more comfortable. please let me know if there is anything i can do, i just feel so bad for him. thanks so much.

Answer
ashley,                                                                 He has had a nice long life. The only thing I could suggest would be to add a little aquarium salt to his tank it will help him relieve himself of liquid wastes easier and reduces stress. You can get it from your local petshop. It is 1 tbspn per 5 gallons adjust accordingly. Replace it every time you do a water change. Tina
