Question
I am trying to teach my oscar to eat out of my hand. I am using pliers and he ate the food. I used carrots but he doesn't like them because he spits them out. I was told they need vegetables in their diet so what food should I use for teaching him to eat out of my hand.

P.S. The only foods I give him right now are bloodworms, tropical flakes, and brine shrimp. I don't really think I can use those to have him eat out of my fingers. Maybe the shrimp but not the other two.

Answer
Hi Ty,
how big is the oscar? the ideal size for teaching is 3"- 8" but you can teach any size.
i would try finding/ buying some earth worms and cut them into small chunks, they really like that.
Keep trying to get him to fallow the pliers around even under water.
