hatchet/calico moore fish

Question
I recently set up a 1.5 gal tank for 2 small hatchet fish. We purchased a calico moore fish who is in a fish bowl - no filter. He/she seems to hang out with it's head at the top of the water level - do you think the fish is in distress? Can i put the calico in with the hatchet fish? I'm a novice - my grandchildren are VERY excited with the fish and I want to keep the fish healthy.

Hi Linda,
 Do you have an airstone in the bowl?  If not, that is likely why the fish is hanging out at the top.  You need to have a filter and airstone in any tank/bowl with a fish in it.  

  As for mixing the hatchet fish and the goldfish, I would not recommend it.
