Question
i have a female yellow lab, 14 days ago, her and the male got together, i put her in a 10 gallon by herself, and today i can see babies swimming around.  she is frantic trying to get them back in her mouth, but there is NO room left at the inn. what should i do? and when do i need to take her out.  also have another yellow lab, who is expecting, spawned yesterday, and have put her in another tank, problem with her is she is very nervous and seems to be in a panic.  could someone calm me down, as i don't want to or not do the right thing, for both girls.  thanks in advance.

Answer
Hello,
Congratulations on the spawns!

These are both normal behaviors, ensuring survival of the fittest. Only the strongest fry will survive because they cannot get protection from their mother, however they will probably survive in the aquarium setting.

Remove the fry about 21 days after they hatch.
