Wavemaker

Hi Will,
I have 1000 Liter freshwater aquarium. I am not sure if I should buy a wave maker for my aquarium or not. I want an excellent condition for my earth eaters cichlids and plecos. As I researched the subject it seems that it is essential for saltwater aquarium. What about freshwater ones? Please advise.

You actually don't need one.
Both of those fish are from rivers, or lakes too small or sheltered to have substantial waves.
Because of this I recommend sticking with powerheads for a light current.

However, if you want to try the wavemaker, it might make for an extremely cool tank. If you try it, let me know how it turns out, I'd be curious to hear your findings.
