Question
I have two goldfish that I have had for a little over a year and I have noticed that they look like they have blood in their gills and in their fins. I had another goldfish that died and their gills were bleeding and so I would like to know if you have any idea what it is and if it can be cured as I don't want to lose these fish like I did the other

Thanks

Answer
Hi Lauren, well sorry its taken so long for me to respond to you. First of all, it sounds like your fish has an internal infection, probably bacterial. The signs that you have described to me sounds like those associated with what is called, SEPTICEMA. To treat this, you need to purchase a broad spectrum antibiotic. I would highly recommend Maracyn 2. I faithfully stick with this brand. If you cannot manage to purchase this brand, and pet store associate should be able to give you what you need, as I mentioned an antibiotic which treats internal infections. Good luck. Let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be more than happy to help.
