QuestionHi,
I bought 2 Electric Blue Johanni Cichlids and after doing some research, I had thought I knew how to tell them apart (male/female)....However, after doing some more research I have come up empty handed.. Some say the males are blue and black and females are orange and some say males are darker and females are lighter... I am hoping to find the correct way of telling them apart. Your help would be greatly appreciated... :)
AnswerHi Virginia,
The problem is that there are several fish sold as electric blue johanni. The true johanni, namely Melanochromis johanni, has blue males and yellow/orange females. The other johannis have blue males and females.
