QuestionHay there Ron,
My name is Jeff and today i bought my first fish other than a gold fish( me so sad). My beautiful Oscar named ADRO. I have everything set up with heat, filtration, cover and about 50% of my water came from the tank he was being sold in. My question is about snails and other types of sucker fish liveing with my lonley oscar.
If i bought a few large snails will my inch and a half oscar take interest in them as a food source or just leave them be? Also another question is - Are there any sucker fish that can live in harmony with my oscar as he/she grows in to a monster?
I thought that if they get along they would make a good companion to my cleaning throughout the week and snack on the any excess pellet food that hits the bottom and becomes waist.
AnswerHi Jeff,
A plecostomus would likely make a good tank companion for an oscar. I suspect the snails might just be dinner once your oscar gets larger, but you can try it.
