Question
Hi Amber
I have two pink kisser gouramis. One was bought a little before the last. Why is it that one always goes after the other one when the lights are on, so needless to say the other is  hidding behind a plant all day while the lights are on. At night when i turn off the lights the one hidding all day comes out and they seem to get along fine.Do you have an explanation?
Thanks so much in advance.....Lisa

Answer
Hello Lisa!

Sorry for the long wait!

When the lights are off, the fish seem more secure in their environment. They can't see their surroundings as well, so they don't feel frightened. You could try leaving the tank light on and the room lights off, to see if this changes their behavior at all. Or you could place a black towel at the back of the aquarium to block some light and make them feel more calm. Gouramis are pretty skittish, mine do the exact same thing!

Hope this helps!
