Blue Devil Damselfish pregnant?

Question
hi, i was just wondering if it is possible for a blue devil damselfish to get pregnant?
we have 2 devil damsels, and we noticed that one of them has gotten big, almost as if it is pregnant. i would just like to know if this means that she is gunna have babies or if it is going to lay eggs, due to its big belly?

we have moved the two fish in a seperate tank away from our other fish, just incase, she is possibly "pregnant".

Answer
Hi Justine,
Just so I am clear on what you have, a damselfish is a marine fish so you do have a marine tank, right?

Damselfish cannot get pregnant as such. They are egg layers and the male alone guards the eggs.   A female will get a little larger before she lays eggs but not really big (i.e., pregnant-looking).  It is, unfortunately, much more likely that your fish has some sort of internal problem, such as a blocked intestine.
