bizarre schooling

I have a 55 gallon tank with 9 blue skirted something or others. I have had them for about a year and they always schooled about the tank all over the place. Now the always stay at one end of the tank lookin out. What do you thing is going on and what can I do. All other fish acting normally.

They are probably tetras. What other fish do you have in that tank? Is it possible that someone is breeding at the other end of the tank?
