molly fish with ick

hi! i have a 25 gallon tank with a 30-40 gallon filtration system. i have 13 molly fish and 3 ghost catfish along with 19 baby molly's that seem to come out of nowhere. several of the molly's have ick. i am currently using ick guard and have raised the water temp to 82 degrees. testing the pH has shown the nitrate/nitrite levels to be well over the danger zone and the water is very hard. i have used tank conditioning and aquarium salt but the levels wont budge. how can i save my fish and get water levels to a safe range?

Hi Teresa,
  Your best bet is to do more frequent water changes.  You should be changing 25% of the water once a week, every week.  Also be aware that chemicals like ick guard can mess with the pH testing kits.
