my female budgie..

My name is alfonso i have 3 one female and 2males budgies my female budgie keeps coming in and out of her nesting box...can u tell me wat is going on...plzzz

Hello Alfonso,

She is probably preparing to lay eggs. If you have a male, a female, and a nest box, you are asking for eggs. She is exploring the box and getting herself ready to lay eggs. She may be in the box gnawing at the sides to make it just the way she wants it for her babies. She may do this for a week or two before she lays the eggs. Everything has to be just right. I will warn you though, you should figure out which male is the mate and remove the "left over" male. An unpaired male could be killed if he comes too close to the breeding female's box. Both male and females can become aggressive during breeding season. GOOD LUCK BREEDING!
