Help!!!!

I just got a new parakeet on new years day. Every time i reach my hand in the cage she flys away. It seems that she doesn't want any thing to do with me. I try to get her to step up on my finger But when she puts one hand  on my finger and uses it to get away. Please help me!!!

I wouldn't worry yet.  You've only had her for a few days, so it will take a little longer than that, you just need to be patient.  

To start, keep your hand still in the cage for a while.  Just let her get used to it and see that your hand isn't a threat.  You should keep it in the cage about a half-hour a day for a week.  After that, you can try slowly moving it closer and petting her.  Eventually she should get comfortable enough to hop on and then let you take her out of the cage.
