Question
Hi Chris!

I'm going away for a short 2-night holiday.
It seems, that "rocky" is a female, she seems to be comfortable in the nesting box now.
Should i move the cage and nesting box to a care-taker or leave them alone at home?
Of course, i'll leave the cage door open so that they can fly about.
I usually cover them up for the night with a cloth, but since im away do you think its okay?
Btw, the care-taker is going to have alot of guests because of the Lunar New Year. Will it tramatize the birds?
I will be flying off tomorrow at 5pm(Singapore time), so could you please help me?!?!?!..
Thanks.

Hi!
my budgies won't sit on the eggs, rite now ive only have 2 eggs. so, should i incubate it or just leave it...
-----Answer-----
Hi, Nad.  Thanks for posting!

How old are your birds?  I need more details about what's going on in order to help.  Usually, birds will start incubating when the second egg is laid, however, I've seen instances where the female doesn't start incubating until the 3d egg is laid.

Is there any type of substrate in the nesting box?  Are there any other birds in the same cage with the male/female?

Hi again, Nad.

I recommend you remove the hay from inside the nesting box...budgies don't like substrate in the box.  If there are any other birds in the same cage with the male and female who have laid the eggs, remove the 3d bird into it's own cage.

See if your female starts incubating her eggs after you do the above.

Answer
Hi again, Nad.

You SHOULD NOT leave your birds alone while you go off for 2 days, especially with the cage door open!  They can get into too many dangerous things inside your home and get hurt and/or die.  Birds on eggs shouldn't be flying free in your home anyway...they need to be caring for their eggs.

So you have 2 females in 1 cage with no males and 1 female is laying eggs???  Please clarify your situation.

If your birds are laying eggs, you shouldn't be moving them to someone else's house.  They need to stay right where they are or the entire egg laying process can be interrupted.  You shouldn't be leaving your birds home alone for 2 days.
